A home renovation project for five souls, two of whom suffer from incurable diseases
The Stefănuț family lives in Galati. They lost one child when he was 3 years old, they have three more children, two of whom suffer from very serious illnesses that require special care, injectable immunoglobulin treatment every ten days for the rest of their lives, medical check-ups and hospitalizations, to many to keep track of them. We have known them for several years and whenever we have met them, we have seen and felt how caring and attentive they are, how they spare no effort to make their children well. They raise them beautifully, with dedication and love. So, we decided it was worth doing everything we could to support them.
After hundreds of roads and hundreds of papers made over 7 years, in September 2021, they received a house from the City Hall. When we decided to help them renovate, we didn’t even find a house, just some sad, bare brick walls. We managed, 10 months later and together with hundreds of Good People, to transform those walls into that HOME where the little ones can fight and live their lives in decent and humane conditions.
It’s hard for us to believe that we built a house with you! Do you realize how cool that is? A house for three cuties, a mother and a father. No more rent stress, no more small, narrow beds for the three kids, no more parents sleeping on the floor in the living room. Everyone now has his own bed, his own room, his own privacy. Plus, a small yard where the kids can do their childish things. All five of them now have a home where they can be serene, where they can return to with love and without worries, where they can have a harmonious place where they can fly into the world, where they can start and finish any plan. They all now have a Home of theirs and theirs alone.
They worked until exhaustion for every corner, when they didn’t know they learned, so as not to spend the money that covered another “purpose”, they didn’t complain about any work that was too hard, that they didn’t know, that they didn’t do it before. They put a lot of hope and love into the walls of this house, and now they can enjoy the work of their hands. It wasn’t easy at all, but #Together, we succeeded!
We wouldn’t have succeeded without each of you, you gave of from your work for their good. We wouldn’t have succeeded without every company that gave us what we needed, when we needed it. Every drop of good gathered with another drop of good, and like this, #Together, we made a Home for five souls. They valued and still value every lei given by you, they gave up vacations or trips, even if the children would have needed it a lot. They made these sacrifices for a year, just for them, for a brighter future in a house with everything they need.
